Italian Rivera

May 14-16, 2000

We did not spend nearly enough time in this part of Italy.
We stayed in Portovenere and hiked on a path along the Cinque Terre, which means 5 lands
We hiked to all 5 towns and then took a ferry back to our hotel.

portovenere view This is the view from our room in The Grand Hotel - simply gorgeous.

portovenere hike There were ruins of an old fort at the end of the cove. This picture is looking back to the port.

portovenere - hike This is on the hike through Cinque Terre. Notice how narrow the path is. It took us all day to hike it, mostly through wine vineyards.
