We stayed at a converted cloister in Avignon which is where the Pope's palace was located for some time in the 13th century.

avignon pope This is the Pope's Palace. When we were there, there was some kind of modern art exhibit inside. There was a three story tall cow head made of flowers and a room of stuffed animals hanging from the ceiling with their heads switched around. We were not allowed to take pictures of these things unfortunately.

avignon pont This is the Pont du Gard, an old Roman aqueduct.
