Santorini, Greece
May 1-5, 2000
Santorini is an amazingly beautiful Greek island, a harrowing 1 1/2 hour plane ride from Athens.
The weather was beautiful in Chicago for the wedding, but cloudy and cool in Santorini.
It was still thoroughly enjoyable - we did tons of walking, explored the dormant volcano and even swam in hot springs.
Here is our room at the Astra Villas, which was actually a cave built into the side of the cliff.
Here we are having lunch at one of the many outdoor taverns.
Feta cheese and Baklava was a staple of our diet in Greece.
Here is the pool at our hotel.
Excellent view, but way too cold to go into.
